[Circle lens review] Neo Glamour Gray

I'm addicted to the Neo glamours, I swear!

Small diameter, 3 tone lenses have always been my favourite - the big eyed "dolly" look does not go well with my face, I assure you. Small diameters are more comfortable for me, and don't give a freaky deaky look. Also, the blending of the 3 colours in Neo Glamours are so pretty and natural looking.

I know what the Neo Glamours are like in terms of size, comfort and wearability, but I've never tried a gray lens. Thanks, Eyecandys!

Eyecandys is one of the biggest and well known circle lens sites online. They've got an absolutely adorable store layout, it's the cutest (and most elegant) I've seen so far! It's easy to browse around and look for the circle lens design that you want. If you're new at circle lenses, have no fear - there's an information section for new lens wearers. I'd recommend giving it a peek.

On to the review!

Here's what I received - a pair of the Neo Glamour Gray lenses in a cute little "star" mesh sacky (uh, what do you call those things?). It also came with the cutest little lens case I've seen. Monkey case, whoop!

These 3D "Mio Friend" cases are really cute, and they come seperately and securely packaged. They also come with a little tweezer, which has been helpful for me. I don't really use tweezers to take out my lens from the actual case (admittedly, I use my clean fingers to do that - is that bad?) but they've been a lifesaver at taking out the lens from the vial. Those little suckers can stubbornly stick to the bottom of the vial!

Eyecandys is also randomly giving away these lens cases when you make a purchase! ARGH I WANT THE FROGGIE. T___T

Description of Neo Glamour Gray

These lenses give a "sweet and natural look". It's one of Neo Vision's bestsellers on Eyecandys, and there have been lots of people who are super happy with these.

Name: Glamour Gray
Brand: Neo
Origin: South Korea
Water content: 42%
Diameter: 14.2 mm
Base curve: 8.6
Life: 1 year (I do not recommend using any lenses for more than 3 months)

Colours avaliable (8): Gray, brown, hazel, honey, blue, aqua, violet, green
Price: Currently $29.60 [here]

Design

Y'all know that the Neo glamours are one of my favourites, the design is lovely and very, very natural looking. The lenses themselves aren't too big either, but do give a little wee bit of enlargement. The following design description is from my Glamour green review.

This lens does have a pretty unique, interesting design. Instead of having a solid limbal ring like most circle lenses, they have jagged edges! These lines do look a lot more natural than a normal, solid limbal ring would.

It begins with black/dark gray colour lines, and changes to an "icy" gray, then finishing off with a deep yellowy gold colour.

Pictures

Up close, the lenses have almost a "blue" colour to them, instead of gray. But from further away, it definitely looks more gray than blue.

Really, how freaky do I look like with the "up stare" + no lashes? Tell me, hahaha. ("Indoor lightning" pictures of the worn lenses will be posted in the next few days, don't fret!)

My thoughts

Store service was quick and nice, and I had the pleasure of talking to one of their employees, Chloe. As for shipping, it was pretty fast! I think I received these lenses within 2 weeks, and they were decently packaged (They came in an envelope, not a box).

Hum, I do like these lenses! As always, the Neo Glamour lenses are super comfortable - I honestly do not feel these in my eyes, and they don't irritate me in the least. The 42% water content is nice and comfortable, heh. I think I can wear these lenses for a good 6-7 hours before feeling anything. Inserting them in, wearing them, and taking them out - each "stage" of using these lenses was easy, simple and comfortable. No hassle dassle~

When I wore my green Glamours, I mentioned that sometimes the lens didn't "stick" to my eye, and moved around a bit. It kind of looked like a "halo" effect, but not as nice - it looked like a misplaced lens. This weird effect only lasted for a bit before returning to normal, and it wasn't a big deal.

But with the gray Glamours, I don't have this mini-problem whatsoever. It doesn't move around, and gives me no trouble at all.

As for design and colour - I do like it! I'm not too big of a fan of gray lenses because I don't think the colour looks as good on me, but it was alright. The colour payoff was good, and the lens colour covered my natural brown eyes excellently. The colour doesn't look too obvious from a distance - in my opinion, it looks really natural and gives a good "oomph" to your eyes. There's a slight, pretty change to the eyes.

Recommend?

If you're looking for a pair of lenses that are natural (in both colour and size), I'd highly recommend these lenses. They'll be perfect for a natural look! These lenses have made me love the Glamours all over again. Maybe when these expire ("Expire" means 3 months for me), I'll buy another exact pair! (I say "maybe", because I'm not yet sure if the other colours will blow me away and make me want to buy those, hah.)

If you're looking for a large size, "look at me" lenses, I wouldn't recommend these. They're not big, and offer little enlargement; and the colour is too natural to be used for standout, obvious lenses.

More pictures

Here's some more pictures of the lenses in action! (Lighting again was a bit everywhere, please excuse.)

Hope you enjoyed the review!

[Review] Missha Super Aqua - Ultra Waterfull Cream

Hello, hello!

I hope you're finding the Korean cosmetic reviews quite useful! I thought I'd take a little different route today - as adorable and awesome Korean cosmetics are, I'm sure you know that Korean skincare is just as popular (and awesome).

Today's review will be on Missha's "Ultra Waterfull Cream" from their Super Aqua line! I've been really interested in this product because of its beautiful packaging, and the fact that it looks similar to Laneige's moisture cream! Lovely thanks goes to Missha Canada.

I'm pretty sure you've heard of Missha before - it's a super popular Korean makeup and skincare brand. I haven't ever seen a Missha store here in Toronto though; whenever I wanted to buy my Missha products (like some of their skincare and makeup),  always had to buy it through Debbie (a Korean store in Pacific mall, or online).

Glad to say that I don't have to do that anymore! Did you know that an official Missha store just opened in Pacific mall?! I was walking around the mall and wanted to get my usual C+F masks from Debbie, but found a Missha store instead! The store looks so sleek and fancy compared to the old Debbie, hah. o.o They're in the midst of their grand opening right now, so there's promotions going on at the moment as well.

On to the review!

[Review] Etude House Color Pop Drawing Show Creamy Pencil Set

Well, I think that's got to be my longest title yet.

The very first eyeliner I had ever tried was my cousin's. We were going to a fancy shmancy dinner and I wanted to try makeup for the first time. But when I tried lining my eyes, it was so difficult. It was a pencil one, but omg - it felt like I was trying to line my eye with a piece of rock. The colour just would not show on me, and I must've stabbed that thing onto my eye a hundred times, trying to get even the tiniest bit of colour.
So from that day on, I've had a huge appreciation and love (and awe) for super creamy eyeliners. Seriously.

Today I'll be reviewing a set of Etude House eyeliners - they're the "Color pop drawing show creamy pencils". Ever since I've tried the Holika Holika gel liner pencils, I've been obsessed with these pencil/gel eyeliners. I've never tried Etude House liners, so a kind thank you goes out to ibuybeauti!

As always, let's take a quick look at "ibuybeauti" store. They're an online store that sells many different Korean cosmetics. Their website is very easy to surf through, as there are subcategories made for easy browsing. The store carries well known brands, such as Etude House, Tonymoly, Innisfree, Lioele, Holika Holika and more!

The thing that most stands out to me is that they carry other brands as well. All korean cosmetics stores sell the brands mentioned above, but oftentimes I can't different brands. It's definitely harder to find CNP, Dr. Jart, Espoir, Hera and (my favourite) Laneige. High five to IBB for carrying them, though!

You may have heard of ibuybeauti's store - but did you know they also have a well known Youtube channel? If you watch "Get It Beauty" on YT with English subtitles, chances are that you've watched it on ibuybeauti! They subtitle and upload such episodes for everyone, Korean and non-Korean, to watch!

I'm not one to wear nail polish often, and my friends know - I have a slight obsessive (and weird) tendency to peel off my nail polish after a couple of hours. But some of the Etude House ice cream nail polish colours are so darn adorable, I've kept them on for as long as I could! I'll be reviewing the set today, a hearty thanks to w2beauty.

W2beauty is an online store run by Alice - the store sells a huge variety of brands and products. Some brands include: Etude House, Tonymoly, Holika Holika, Iope, Laneige, Mizon, even Sulwhasoo! It's like a wonderland of Korean cosmetics - with free shipping~ *___*

[Review] Mizon - All in one snail repair cream

Using snail extract has been a huge hit in the (Asian) beauty world lately. Every single company seems to have their own line of snail slime for skin! I hadn't ever used any snail products before, so I was super happy that I got this chance, thanks to Jolse / iamloveshop.

First, let's take a little look at the store itself. Jolse is a very well known store on eBay (iamlove-shop)  - if you buy Korean cosmetics regularly, you may have seen their store selling your favourite products! They carry more than 4,000 "health and beauty" products in their store. Sponsored or not, I have never been disappointed with their service.

Let's get on to the review!

Packaging

The packaged box is pretty sturdy - the opening of the box also has the Mizon authentication sticker on it. It's slightly holographic and right on the opening. If the sticker is tampered (or if there is no sticker), don't use the product and be alert!

This is a skincare product best used at the "first step of skincare". It contains 92% snail extract, which has been known to provide the skin with numerous benefits. There's a whole slew of things that this cream claims to fix!

1. Excellent skin recovery strengthening (snail mucin recovers damaged skin and strengthens it for the future.
2. Fine wrinkle care
3. Trouble marks care (fixes the reddish/dark sensitive trouble marks)
4 Widened pores (this product has beta-glucan, peptide and greentea extract)
5. Moisture and nutrition supplying (protects your skin from loss of hydration and nutrition.)
6. Protect your skin with external stimulatus (soothes sensitive skin)
7. Elastic skin (fills your skin up, makes you look more awake, and vitalizes your skin.)

The jar itself is heavy - I'm guessing it's made out of glass. It gives it an elegant, "expensive" feel to it, haha. It's not too travel friendly (you can always transfer a bit of product into a more portable jar, though)!

When you twist open the lid, there's a thin, white film covering the product in. This is a way to keep out dust or  bacteria (to a certain extent), as well as avoiding spills.

Review

The cream is a soft, white colour. Even though it's marketed as a "cream", it doesn't feel as heavy as a cream. It's more a moisturizer/emulsion, but it's got a bit more moisturizing capabilities.

I was surprised to feel that this "cream" does dry up pretty quickly. I was expecting something similar to Laneige's Water bank moisture cream, but I guess (in this aspect), it's just not the same!

Scent: Admittedly, the smell of snail juice does make me a little queasy! But this product doesn't have a gross, "ew" smell.

There is slight, peculiar scent to it, but the smell does go away very, very quickly. I also didn't get any allergic reactions from using this cream, so the fragrance (if there is any) doesn't irritate me.

Price: currently $18.84 on Jolse.

Some stores sell this same product for almost $50. As good as it is, I would not recommend buying this product for more than $25. Why pay $50 when you can get it for $18.84, right?

Directions: At your first skin care step, apply roper amount of it to over face and let it be absorbed into your skin.

Application: As you can hopefully see, it's got a bit of a gel-feeling to it. It's quite liquidy, and spreads very easily to your entire face. It does dry up (or absorb), very quickly, so I constantly have this urge to put more and more onto my face.

Admittedly, I did think it was a waste to pick out this snail emulsion (before I had used it). I don't know why, but I really wanted some miracles to work with this thing! For some reason, I just thought that it wouldn't work for me as well as it did for other people.

I applied this cream at night, and basically shrugged to myself, telling me to use my Laneige creams the next night.

But when I woke up in the morning, I was taken aback! The redness on my skin had disappeared quite quickly, and I couldn't really see any redness on its usual spots (cheeks, nose, forehead, etc). When I touched my face, it did feel plumper! It's not as "skin-plumping" or moisturizing as Laneige's water bank moisture cream, but it does moisturize better than Laneige's water sleeping pack_ex.

I do think that this product was well worth the $20. I've tried many different products from other companies, some drugstore, many high end. However, cheap Korean cosmetics have always offered quality that often rivals high end makeup brands in the US. It's definitely worth the $20!

The morning after:

There was a lot of redness before, but I do strongly think that the Mizon all in one snail repair cream has helped a lot with this problem! Bravo!

Pros
- Affordable ($20 for a tub)
- Moisturizing
- Snail extract (trendy and popular to use!)
- Easy to find
- Excellent quality packaging (not travel friendly, though)
- Easy to find (most online stores sell this cream)

Cons
- Slight smell (in the beginning of application only)
- Does not come with spatula (big pet peeve!)

Repurchase?
Even though this cream works excellently (a little more moisturizing than my beloved Lanegie Water Sleeping Pack_EX), I do think I want to venture further into the skincare world and try new things.

Yay, random pictures! (and they hold a hint on what an upcoming review will be about - can you guess what I'll be reviewing soon?)

What about you?
Have you tried this cream before? What kinds of cream do you use? Have you tried snail products before?

[Circle lens review] Neo Glamour Green!

Hi! It's 12:39am right now, and I'm absolutely dead tired. My eyes feel kind of heavy and whatnot, but I really, really wanted to write about these pair of lenses right now. I'm a happy lens camper, you see.

I've mentioned that the Geo world series were my first lens, and when I first saw them on a store website, I was all "that. is. mine!"

Well, I'm here today to talk about the 2nd line of lenses that made me go ga-ga. It's another 3 tone lens (yes, we know I'm crazy about 3 tones), from Neo Vision. I'll be talking about the Neo Vision glamour lens in green!

Thank you very much to Honeycolor, who has sponsored this review.

First, let's have a quick look at Honeycolor - they're one of the most well known online circle lens stores, known for their huge circle lens collection. On top of having such a selection, Honeycolor also has great selection of false eyelashes. You can find famous brands like Dollywink, Jumily, Diamond lash and Eyemazing there!

The lenses came in this little box, which I really like. The front of the box has the Honeycolor company name printed on it - the back shows pictures on how to insert the lens into your eye! Its great help for beginners, who may not know how to put on lenses. The lenses also come with an adorable case! I got a purple fishy case, heheh! ^o^

So, I'll begin by telling you a little more about the Neo Glamour green lenses!

Diameter: 14.2
BC (Base curve): 8.6
Water content: 45%
Life: 1 year
Certified by: KFDA, UKAS 054, ISO 13485, CE 0499, GMP
Colours available (8): Green, hazel, blue, brown, honey, violet, gray, aqua

Price: Currently $26.32 [here]

Design

This lens does have a pretty unique, interesting design. Instead of having a solid limbal ring like most circle lenses, they have jagged edges! These lines do look a lot more natural than a normal, solid limbal ring would.

The green colour of the lens doesn't show up too much when it's in the case, but there are 3 colours that blend in together. It begins with black/dark gray colour lines, and changes to a natural green, then finishing off with a deep yellow colour.

Pictures

You can see that the lens colours do blend in well with my natural eye colour. It doesn't really give off a vibrant green look, but rather a natural, murky green. I really, really like that! (As usual, I wasn't going for a vibrant eye look!)

In the picture below, I'm wearing the lenses in different lightings.

Update May 13 2018: OMFG LOL why do i look like this, my eyes are uneven omg

My thoughts

Honeycolour service: I'd have to say that the store service is brilliant - they always reply quickly, and very politely. Not all stores can offer the 2 (speed and politeness) together in customer service, so I like that a lot.
The shipping was extra fast - it only came in a couple of days for me. Honeycolour does offer several different shipping options, so you can choose whatever option fits your budget. On average (if you choose the cheapest method), it'll take approximately 2 weeks.

As for the lenses - I do really, really, honestly like these. They give off a natural look, which I can always appreciate! They're not as HUGE on me as the Geo nudys, it only gives off a slight enlargement. When in regular room light, it's not too obvious that you're wearing lenses. However, they do change your appearance a little bit, enough to make a slight, nice change.

Comfort is brilliant. I can't even feel them in my eyes (as all contacts should be, haha), and I forget I'm wearing them! These lenses have a 45% water content - this makes them super, duper comfortable and I can easily wear these for a long time (7+ hours). Brilliant.

The only thing I'd have to point out is that sometimes, the right lens doesn't seem to "stick" onto my eye properly. It moves around a very, very little bit. It's nothing that other people will notice (if it does indeed move). It's not much to worry about and no one notices it, though. (It's probably just my eye adjusting to it.)

Brilliant lenses, love them! I hope I can try out all the colours in this line, hehe. My next favourites (by colour) are hazel, honey and brown!

Description

Smooth textured lipstick supplies vivid color and moist shine.
1. Expressed as vivid colour on the lips. Smooth and good colour. Clean, bright lips express.
2. Smooth lips without keratin. Soft as cream.
3. Abundant nutrition and moisture. Maintains healthy, moist lips.

These lipsticks are pretty much exactly as described. I was pretty surprised at how smooth and creamy they were! They didn't feel "crayon-y", nor did it feel like I was tugging it around my lips. The colour is pretty vivid, but note that some colours may look very, very similar to each other.

Net wt: 3.4g (0.11oz)
Size: Small, but enough to last a while. The bullet is maybe 3.5cm, from base to tip.

Price: $14
You can find it here at Keautystore!

Colours: There is a huge range of colours to choose from. There are currently 31 colours in the whole line!

Review

I'll be showing you 5 of the 31 colours! (If the PK009 sticker looks tampered with, it totally is. I peeled it off for fun and stuck it back on... entertainment at its weirdest.)

Packaging

The packaging is super pretty -  they're slightly shimmery, pink tubes with ribbons on the bottom! Super girly and pretty. It's the little details that make the whole thing really cute, no?

They've got product information stickers on the bottom of the tubes. Although all the tubes look exactly the same, you'll have the product name and code (ex. OR204) on the bottom.

The lipsticks

From left to right, we have:
1. BE101 (Tease beige)
2. PK005 (Excited pink)
3. PK009
4. OR204 (Bashful coral)
5. OR205 (Exciting orange)

The bullets are really vivid in colour, and are super smooth and creamy! They even have little carvings on them - I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be cinderella's carriage? It sure looks like it. Eee, little pretty details make me squeal in a really weird way ahhaa~

Swatches
Again, in the same order:
1. BE101
2. PK005
3. PK009
4. OR204
5. OR205

Review
These lipsticks are really creamy and smooth - it's a breeze applying them to your lips, but I highly recommend that you exfoliate your lips beforehand. It really won't look good if you apply this lipstick when you've got chapped, "damaged" lips. The colour will settle into lines, "clump up" a little on chappy lips and... it's just a mess. I really tried exfoliating the best I could, but meh, it did settle into lines a bit. Not a big deal, though.
- These lipsticks aren't drying, either. They really do make my lips moist, I likey!

I really like how each colour shows up pretty well on my lips - I could actually see the colour difference on these lipsticks (unlike some other lipsticks, which may all look the same). They last decently long, but you might want to reapply after eating or drinking. I don't really care for reapplying though, and find that it still gives a faint tint even at the very end of the day. I don't mind!

My favourite colours have to be BE101 and OR204. Even though they're super pretty, I do think the pinks (PK009 in particular) are a little too strong for me.

Lastly, for the price - I think it's worth its price range ($8-14). They've got lots of quality for the price. I personally would never spend over $40+ on a lipstick (okay, maybe if I suddenly had the money), and because these are so good, I'll probably see myself buying more of these in the future!

Because of their quality and affordability, I'd recommend 1 or 2 to anyone interested in lipsticks! I don't think you'll be disappointed. ^__^

Likes
- Creamy, smooth texture
- Affordable
- Easy to find + buy
- Lightly scented
- Really pigmented
- Huge colour range to choose from
- Adorable packaging!

Dislikes
- Absolutely must exfoliate before use (unless you've got amazing lips... I'm jealous!)

Repurchase: Yes! I'd love to try more of the beige colours, they're pretty and so wearable!

What about you?
Have you tried these lipsticks? What do you think about them? ^__^
