[Review] Mizon - All in one snail repair cream

Using snail extract has been a huge hit in the (Asian) beauty world lately. Every single company seems to have their own line of snail slime for skin! I hadn't ever used any snail products before, so I was super happy that I got this chance, thanks to Jolse / iamloveshop.

First, let's take a little look at the store itself. Jolse is a very well known store on eBay (iamlove-shop)  - if you buy Korean cosmetics regularly, you may have seen their store selling your favourite products! They carry more than 4,000 "health and beauty" products in their store. Sponsored or not, I have never been disappointed with their service.

Let's get on to the review!

Packaging

The packaged box is pretty sturdy - the opening of the box also has the Mizon authentication sticker on it. It's slightly holographic and right on the opening. If the sticker is tampered (or if there is no sticker), don't use the product and be alert!

This is a skincare product best used at the "first step of skincare". It contains 92% snail extract, which has been known to provide the skin with numerous benefits. There's a whole slew of things that this cream claims to fix!

1. Excellent skin recovery strengthening (snail mucin recovers damaged skin and strengthens it for the future.
2. Fine wrinkle care
3. Trouble marks care (fixes the reddish/dark sensitive trouble marks)
4 Widened pores (this product has beta-glucan, peptide and greentea extract)
5. Moisture and nutrition supplying (protects your skin from loss of hydration and nutrition.)
6. Protect your skin with external stimulatus (soothes sensitive skin)
7. Elastic skin (fills your skin up, makes you look more awake, and vitalizes your skin.)

The jar itself is heavy - I'm guessing it's made out of glass. It gives it an elegant, "expensive" feel to it, haha. It's not too travel friendly (you can always transfer a bit of product into a more portable jar, though)!

When you twist open the lid, there's a thin, white film covering the product in. This is a way to keep out dust or  bacteria (to a certain extent), as well as avoiding spills.

Review

The cream is a soft, white colour. Even though it's marketed as a "cream", it doesn't feel as heavy as a cream. It's more a moisturizer/emulsion, but it's got a bit more moisturizing capabilities.

I was surprised to feel that this "cream" does dry up pretty quickly. I was expecting something similar to Laneige's Water bank moisture cream, but I guess (in this aspect), it's just not the same!

Scent: Admittedly, the smell of snail juice does make me a little queasy! But this product doesn't have a gross, "ew" smell.

There is slight, peculiar scent to it, but the smell does go away very, very quickly. I also didn't get any allergic reactions from using this cream, so the fragrance (if there is any) doesn't irritate me.

Price: currently $18.84 on Jolse.

Some stores sell this same product for almost $50. As good as it is, I would not recommend buying this product for more than $25. Why pay $50 when you can get it for $18.84, right?

Directions: At your first skin care step, apply roper amount of it to over face and let it be absorbed into your skin.

Application: As you can hopefully see, it's got a bit of a gel-feeling to it. It's quite liquidy, and spreads very easily to your entire face. It does dry up (or absorb), very quickly, so I constantly have this urge to put more and more onto my face.

Admittedly, I did think it was a waste to pick out this snail emulsion (before I had used it). I don't know why, but I really wanted some miracles to work with this thing! For some reason, I just thought that it wouldn't work for me as well as it did for other people.

I applied this cream at night, and basically shrugged to myself, telling me to use my Laneige creams the next night.

But when I woke up in the morning, I was taken aback! The redness on my skin had disappeared quite quickly, and I couldn't really see any redness on its usual spots (cheeks, nose, forehead, etc). When I touched my face, it did feel plumper! It's not as "skin-plumping" or moisturizing as Laneige's water bank moisture cream, but it does moisturize better than Laneige's water sleeping pack_ex.

I do think that this product was well worth the $20. I've tried many different products from other companies, some drugstore, many high end. However, cheap Korean cosmetics have always offered quality that often rivals high end makeup brands in the US. It's definitely worth the $20!

The morning after:

There was a lot of redness before, but I do strongly think that the Mizon all in one snail repair cream has helped a lot with this problem! Bravo!

Pros
- Affordable ($20 for a tub)
- Moisturizing
- Snail extract (trendy and popular to use!)
- Easy to find
- Excellent quality packaging (not travel friendly, though)
- Easy to find (most online stores sell this cream)

Cons
- Slight smell (in the beginning of application only)
- Does not come with spatula (big pet peeve!)

Repurchase?
Even though this cream works excellently (a little more moisturizing than my beloved Lanegie Water Sleeping Pack_EX), I do think I want to venture further into the skincare world and try new things.

Yay, random pictures! (and they hold a hint on what an upcoming review will be about - can you guess what I'll be reviewing soon?)

[Circle lens review] Neo Glamour Green!

Hi! It's 12:39am right now, and I'm absolutely dead tired. My eyes feel kind of heavy and whatnot, but I really, really wanted to write about these pair of lenses right now. I'm a happy lens camper, you see.

I've mentioned that the Geo world series were my first lens, and when I first saw them on a store website, I was all "that. is. mine!"

Well, I'm here today to talk about the 2nd line of lenses that made me go ga-ga. It's another 3 tone lens (yes, we know I'm crazy about 3 tones), from Neo Vision. I'll be talking about the Neo Vision glamour lens in green!

Thank you very much to Honeycolor, who has sponsored this review.

First, let's have a quick look at Honeycolor - they're one of the most well known online circle lens stores, known for their huge circle lens collection. On top of having such a selection, Honeycolor also has great selection of false eyelashes. You can find famous brands like Dollywink, Jumily, Diamond lash and Eyemazing there!

The lenses came in this little box, which I really like. The front of the box has the Honeycolor company name printed on it - the back shows pictures on how to insert the lens into your eye! Its great help for beginners, who may not know how to put on lenses. The lenses also come with an adorable case! I got a purple fishy case, heheh! ^o^

So, I'll begin by telling you a little more about the Neo Glamour green lenses!

Diameter: 14.2
BC (Base curve): 8.6
Water content: 45%
Life: 1 year
Certified by: KFDA, UKAS 054, ISO 13485, CE 0499, GMP
Colours available (8): Green, hazel, blue, brown, honey, violet, gray, aqua

Price: Currently $26.32 [here]

Design

This lens does have a pretty unique, interesting design. Instead of having a solid limbal ring like most circle lenses, they have jagged edges! These lines do look a lot more natural than a normal, solid limbal ring would.

The green colour of the lens doesn't show up too much when it's in the case, but there are 3 colours that blend in together. It begins with black/dark gray colour lines, and changes to a natural green, then finishing off with a deep yellow colour.

Pictures

You can see that the lens colours do blend in well with my natural eye colour. It doesn't really give off a vibrant green look, but rather a natural, murky green. I really, really like that! (As usual, I wasn't going for a vibrant eye look!)

In the picture below, I'm wearing the lenses in different lightings.

Update May 13 2018: OMFG LOL why do i look like this, my eyes are uneven omg

My thoughts

Honeycolour service: I'd have to say that the store service is brilliant - they always reply quickly, and very politely. Not all stores can offer the 2 (speed and politeness) together in customer service, so I like that a lot.
The shipping was extra fast - it only came in a couple of days for me. Honeycolour does offer several different shipping options, so you can choose whatever option fits your budget. On average (if you choose the cheapest method), it'll take approximately 2 weeks.

As for the lenses - I do really, really, honestly like these. They give off a natural look, which I can always appreciate! They're not as HUGE on me as the Geo nudys, it only gives off a slight enlargement. When in regular room light, it's not too obvious that you're wearing lenses. However, they do change your appearance a little bit, enough to make a slight, nice change.

Comfort is brilliant. I can't even feel them in my eyes (as all contacts should be, haha), and I forget I'm wearing them! These lenses have a 45% water content - this makes them super, duper comfortable and I can easily wear these for a long time (7+ hours). Brilliant.

The only thing I'd have to point out is that sometimes, the right lens doesn't seem to "stick" onto my eye properly. It moves around a very, very little bit. It's nothing that other people will notice (if it does indeed move). It's not much to worry about and no one notices it, though. (It's probably just my eye adjusting to it.)

Rating
(Note: I don't give 0.5 marks!)

Overall rating: /5

Brilliant lenses, love them! I hope I can try out all the colours in this line, hehe. My next favourites (by colour) are hazel, honey and brown!

I've taken some more pictures, in case you guys wanted to see more of these lenses in action!

Update May 13, 2018 - What was I doing with this ribbon? Where did I find this ribbon????????

Description

Smooth textured lipstick supplies vivid color and moist shine.
1. Expressed as vivid colour on the lips. Smooth and good colour. Clean, bright lips express.
2. Smooth lips without keratin. Soft as cream.
3. Abundant nutrition and moisture. Maintains healthy, moist lips.

These lipsticks are pretty much exactly as described. I was pretty surprised at how smooth and creamy they were! They didn't feel "crayon-y", nor did it feel like I was tugging it around my lips. The colour is pretty vivid, but note that some colours may look very, very similar to each other.

Net wt: 3.4g (0.11oz)
Size: Small, but enough to last a while. The bullet is maybe 3.5cm, from base to tip.

Price: $14
You can find it here at Keautystore!

Colours: There is a huge range of colours to choose from. There are currently 31 colours in the whole line!

Review

I'll be showing you 5 of the 31 colours! (If the PK009 sticker looks tampered with, it totally is. I peeled it off for fun and stuck it back on... entertainment at its weirdest.)

Packaging

The packaging is super pretty -  they're slightly shimmery, pink tubes with ribbons on the bottom! Super girly and pretty. It's the little details that make the whole thing really cute, no?

They've got product information stickers on the bottom of the tubes. Although all the tubes look exactly the same, you'll have the product name and code (ex. OR204) on the bottom.

The lipsticks

From left to right, we have:
1. BE101 (Tease beige)
2. PK005 (Excited pink)
3. PK009
4. OR204 (Bashful coral)
5. OR205 (Exciting orange)

The bullets are really vivid in colour, and are super smooth and creamy! They even have little carvings on them - I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be cinderella's carriage? It sure looks like it. Eee, little pretty details make me squeal in a really weird way ahhaa~

Swatches
Again, in the same order:
1. BE101
2. PK005
3. PK009
4. OR204
5. OR205

Sunlight

With flash, blended out!

Review
These lipsticks are really creamy and smooth - it's a breeze applying them to your lips, but I highly recommend that you exfoliate your lips beforehand. It really won't look good if you apply this lipstick when you've got chapped, "damaged" lips. The colour will settle into lines, "clump up" a little on chappy lips and... it's just a mess. I really tried exfoliating the best I could, but meh, it did settle into lines a bit. Not a big deal, though.
- These lipsticks aren't drying, either. They really do make my lips moist, I likey!

I really like how each colour shows up pretty well on my lips - I could actually see the colour difference on these lipsticks (unlike some other lipsticks, which may all look the same). They last decently long, but you might want to reapply after eating or drinking. I don't really care for reapplying though, and find that it still gives a faint tint even at the very end of the day. I don't mind!

My favourite colours have to be BE101 and OR204. Even though they're super pretty, I do think the pinks (PK009 in particular) are a little too strong for me.

Lastly, for the price - I think it's worth its price range ($8-14). They've got lots of quality for the price. I personally would never spend over $40+ on a lipstick (okay, maybe if I suddenly had the money), and because these are so good, I'll probably see myself buying more of these in the future!

Because of their quality and affordability, I'd recommend 1 or 2 to anyone interested in lipsticks! I don't think you'll be disappointed. ^__^

Likes
- Creamy, smooth texture
- Affordable
- Easy to find + buy
- Lightly scented
- Really pigmented
- Huge colour range to choose from
- Adorable packaging!

Dislikes
- Absolutely must exfoliate before use (unless you've got amazing lips... I'm jealous!)

Repurchase: Yes! I'd love to try more of the beige colours, they're pretty and so wearable!

[Review] Tonymoly Fresh Aqua Cooling 24 Eyes Stick

Why do so many Korean cosmetics have such long names...?

I'm back with another review - this time on Tonymoly's "Fresh Aqua Cooling 24 Eyes Stick"! I purchased this at the "Debbie" store in Pacific mall. You can see it featured in my latest haul here.

[Before we get into this: I'm really sorry I haven't been posting often! I've got a deferred exam up in less than 2 weeks, so I'm pretty much trying to cram, ahahah... I'll definitely be posting a lot more after August 13th! ^___^]

When I bought it, the weather was super hot, and everyone was melting on the streets. Some of you may know that I don't have AC in the house, so at nights... it was really, really difficult to sleep. I ended up getting some serious dark circles and tired eyes!
I tried to find any way to cool off - so when I saw this, I was like "OMG. Mine. Cool eyes yes."

To top it off, I bought it on sale! It was regularly $10-13 (or something like that), but I actually bought it for $3. Debbie was having a crazy sale that day, and a lot of things were 50% off (or more).

On to the review!

Product description

"Unique eye serum in stick form that's designed to provide relief and moisture for puffy, tired eyes. When applied, the stick gives a cooling, soothing sensation to the eyes."

It comes in a "twisty stick" (what do you call those, again?) and is light blue in colour. There's a faint, pleasant smell to it and isn't sticky when applied. Smells fresh, it does.

As for the size and price - the stick comes with 9g of product. If purchased that regular price, that's pretty expensive for such a small amount.

Initial thoughts

I was super exciting having found this for only $3 (even though I would've paid full price anyways). The "cooling" claim got me really curious, and I just couldn't leave the store without it. I tried it out on my hand before buying, and did feel a cooling sensation.

It might've been a placebo effect.

Swatch/pictures

Update (Dec 2019): IDK why I thought a "swatch" of a undereye stick would be useful. Lmfao, but here it be.

It's not coloured, and will apply clear. There isn't a sticky feeling to it, but my hand did feel slightly moisturized? The difference was so small that I couldn't even tell if I had actually swatched it.

Before (left), After (right) - not too useful but... here it be?

My experience

It didn't work at all.
I'm not sure why, but when I swiped it on my hand it didn't feel "sticky" or anything. But when I was applying it under and over my eyes, I felt that the stick didn't have any "moisture" properties to it and actually tugged at my skin. It was like trying to roll a slightly (very slightly) damp crayon on your skin.

The product doesn't claim that it'll "fix" under eye circles, so I didn't have a problem with that aspect. However, it doesn't reduce puffiness. It didn't even "cool" my eyes! It doesn't make my eyes less tired, or even moisturize the skin. There was no difference to my eyes - I didn't see it, nor feel it.
Where was the cooling sensation?

What's more, 15 minutes after using the product and deciding that it didn't work, I decided to give it another shot (Maybe it'll work the second time?). I pulled the cap off, and BAM.

Red exclamation mark to show my shock!

The stick broke off its "twisty" end, and stuck to the top of the cap! I didn't even twist it up that much, how can this be?!
Either way, I was slightly annoyed. I had to dig it out, and shove it back in its normal spot, huhuhu.

It didn't work the second time, either. I swiped it on each eye 3 times, and it might've been too much. The product started... clumping on my skin? It looked like dead skin cells or something (or eraser bits). I didn't take a picture of it, but you might be able to see the "clumping" on the picture below. (the left corner of the eye)

So in summary

Pros:
- Smells nice ("fresh", light scent)

Cons:
- Doesn't moisturize
- Doesn't relieve puffiness or tired eyes
- Doesn't cool the skin
- Starts to "clump up" if swiped 3+ times
- No cooling effect on eyes
- Expensive (for regular price)

Repurchase?
No. I wouldn't even buy this for 50 cents.

What about you?
Have you tried this? Have you tried any other "cooling" product?

[Review] Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Aura Make-Up MIST

Hello!

I'm back with another review; this time, it's on Tonymoly's "Luminous Goddess Aura Makeup Mist"! (The name is so long, seriously.) Endorsed by Kpop group, T-ara!

I picked this product just on a random whim. I do have a few mists in my collection, but they haven't really been used a lot. Maybe a single spritz? I'm not sure why I picked this one - and after having it in my hands, I even regretted it!

But no worries! After using this mist, it's become one of my favourite products, and I use it every time I apply makeup.

Product description

I'll describe it pretty briefly here: It's a mist mixed with both oil and water, and can be used before or after makeup application. The below description from online shop Momomango describes it excellently!

Tony Moly's Luminous Goddess Aura Mist is a multple use mist which can be used both before and after makeup.  It's no secret that heavy makeup use can do a number on your skin, so keep it fresh and protected with Tony Moly's hydrating mist!  A 3:7 ratio of oil and water layered mixture helps keep your skin skin soft, moist and hydrated to prevent dry and flaky skin.

Packaging: It comes in a pinkish bottle made of plastic. It's pretty sturdy, and I have no fear of accidentally dropping this baby! (Not that I'd want to, but y'know.)

The spray nozzle is strong, and gives a good spritz. I only need 1 spritz to cover my entire face.
I really dislike the nozzles where it gives a choking, "half hearted" spritz, and you've got nothing on your face after a good 4 pumps. Bleh!

Size: It comes in a 80ml bottle.

Scent: There is a scent to this mist. I can't really describe it, but it smells... fruity? I really like it, ahaha.

More info:
- Mixture of oil and water (shake before use)
- Lasts 12 months after first use
- Prevents dry skin
- Multi use, can be used before/after makeup
- Bottom of bottle: Manufacture date

Directions

1. Shake well before use.
2. Hold bottle 20-30 cm distance from face when spraying

Initial/after thoughts

Like I said - I actually pretty much regretted picking this product up. I realized after that it had a 3:7 ratio of oil and water. I thought "OIL? OIL?" and freaked out, because I thought it'd mess up my skin and give me clogged pores, or something crazy like that.

When I used it, I was really happy though! It made my skin feel really fresh, and it didn't feel heavy at all. After use, my face felt really, really soft and smooth - smoother than a baby's butt. I likeee. I also really like that the main ingredient in this product is Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (Aloe Vera)!

My skin looked super dewy after use, but it does die down later. It still gives you a healthy glow on your face (nothing too drastic), so I really like it!

So, in summary:

Pros:
- Inexpensive
- A little goes a long way, so it's cost efficient too!
- Makes skin smoother, softer, moisturized
- Gives a dewy look
- Prevents dryness/flakey skin
- Prevents "cakey" foundation application (or fixes it)

Cons:
- I honestly can't think of any...

Repurchase: Yes! It's not expensive, and it really makes my skin super soft and gives it a fresh feeling. I really like this product. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good, inexpensive mist!

What about you?
Do you use mists? What do you think about this product?

[Circle lens review] Geo 3 tone brown!

Hey guys!
I'm back with another review, this time on a circle lens pair!

I purchased the "Geo 3 tone brown" from circlelens.com a few months ago for $17.50. I mentioned these in a post a couple of days ago - this series is my absolute favourite! The colours in this line are super pretty, and even though I'm a brown lens kind of girl, I'd even try this in violet!

Description and information

Brand: Geo Medical
Base curve: 8.6 mm
Diameter: 14.2 mm
Life: 12 months
Colour: 3 toned
Water content: 38%
Made in Korea

"World Series is the tri color lens that blends shades of different color and the brown in the middle in order to imitate the natural eye color. The printing also blends in the natural eye color, resulting in not too vibrant, but definitely noticeable, even from afar. World Brown is recommended for people who want to change the color of their eyes, but do not want any enlargement effect."
- Circlelens.com

This line goes by several different names:

- Berry Cessy
- World series
- Geo 3 tones
- The "official name" for these lenses are CM90_. (There's a different number at the end for each colour.)

My favourite colour has got to be brown (for now), it looks really nice in the shop photos! They're 3 toned, so it'll blend quite nicely with your real eye colour. I personally think these are the prettiest lenses I've seen so far, but I'm just an overall fan of 3 tones aha.

Anyways, I was really nervous when I saw them in person though - the colour doesn't look brown, but it looks orange-y. Definitely not what I had imagined, so I was pretty much sure that I'd have to toss these.
