[Review] Laneige Firming Sleeping Pack + Giveaway winner!

Hello!

So I've done a review on Laneige's famous water sleeping pack. Today will be on Laneige's other famous skincare pack - the Firming Sleeping Pack, sold at ibuybeauti.

This product has won several different awards, including the Allure "best of beauty" award. 1 tub is sold every 30 seconds! Next to the Water Sleeping Pack, this product is similar in that it repairs your skin while you sleep. While the Water Sleeping Pack's main goal is for skin hydration, vitality and brightening, the Firming Pack is used mainly to restore skin firmness.

Description

"A supple and resilient sleeping pack that restores skin firmness while you sleep"
- Laneige

"Laneige Firming Sleeping Pack takes care of your Sleep Line, the potential wrinkles that are formed while you sleep. It relieves skin wrinkles and fortifies skin barriers by preventing skin damage during daytime. This light gel-type pack contains Sleepscent that relieves the skin from stress; it is applied on the skin before going to bed."

The Firming Pack comes in a really pretty, blue tub. It's made of hard plastic, but has a "glamorous", heavy feel to it. Though the size is small enough (smaller than the Water Sleeping Pack_EX), I personally don't find it too travel friendly. The product comes in a small box with a spatula (yay, spatulas!)

Inside, the product is sealed and there is also a secondary white, plastic film over it to keep out air and bacteria (to an extent).

The pack itself is an off-white, cream colour. It's got a jelly like texture - definitely not the same feeling as the Water Sleeping Pack. It's called a "memory foam gel" that "instantly reshapes and rejuvenates sagging skin during the night". There is no need to wash off this mask (you do this the morning after).

Skin type
The Laneige Firming Sleeping Pack is meant for "all skin types"

Size
This product comes in a 50ml tub. It is smaller than the Water Sleeping Pack_EX.

Price
You can get this product for $29.99 at ibuybeauti.

Directions for use

1. After cleansing in the evening, apply toner and emulsion (I use Laneige's LIGHT toner and LIGHT balancing emulsion from their "basic care" set)

2. Apply an appropriate amount of sleeping pack and gently spread from the chin to the centre of the face toward its contours.

3. Let it stay in the skin during the night and wash it off in the morning.

NOTE: Use only 1-2 times a week.

Applied

It's jelly-like, and jiggles on the spatula. *u* Hehehe.

 Look! The jelly "melts"!

It leaves skin feeling quite moisturized and plump.

Note: Sorry I didn't have an "applied on my face" picture - I was really breaking out at the time. I'll upload one here in the future!

My thoughts
First of all... this product is so fun to apply! :D It's so "jelly-like", and when the jelly melts on your face, it's cool (how juvenile do I sound?), haha.

Though its named the "firming pack", I never expected it to really firm up my skin and do anything miraculous. During the times I've used it, I've experienced realistic (but satisfactory) outcomes. My skin does feel a little plumper the morning after. The "plump" feeling also gives me a feeling that my skin does indeed feel a bit firmer (Sounds weird, but true). It doesn't give a really noticeable firming effect (as in, "clay mask" kind of "firm), but it's big enough to notice. Not only does it firm your skin, it makes it quite soft as well.

Though the product did what it claimed... it wasn't for me. I don't particularly need a firming product right now, and simply picked this out because I was curious as to how it worked, comparing to Sleeping Pack_EX, etc. Though I don't need it NOW, I know I'll buy this in the future when I do.
Until then, I'll happy use my Sleeping pack!

Recommend?
The Firming Pack is apparently meant for people in the 20-30 age range, which makes sense. This would be a good product for you if you're in that age range! For $30, it's a fair buy and I'd recommend this for you to try out!

I personally wouldn't recommend this for people in elementary/high school, because... why would you need it? My advice - the Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX would be a way better choice for you.

Pros
- Noticeably firms your skin
- Fair price
- Softens skin
- Easy to find
- Award winning product (Allure Korea)
- Doesn't break me out
- Pleasant smell (not overwhelming, etc.)
- Lasts a good while
- Comes with a spatula

Cons
- Not for all ages

Overall rating:
Note: I don't give half marks.

/5

Repurchase?
I'll repurchase this in the future - not now! I don't quite need it at the moment, but definitely see myself buying this product when I do. Until then, I'll be using more of Laneige's Sleeping Pack_EX. If you're interested in the Sleeping Pack.

If you're interested in the Firming Pack, you can easily buy it (hassle-free and fairly priced) at ibuybeauti.

Thanks for reading this review!

"We are jellies! Hehehe."

What about you?
Have you used Laneige before? Have you tried this product before?

[Circle lens review] Neo Glamour Brown

Heyo!

Today's post will be on a circle lens! Y'all know how much I love the Neo Glamours - and today's post will be on the Neo Glamour Browns. I like natural looks, so yay brown! Thanks, Eyecandys~

I got another monkey case!
(Same picture used in Hazel review, wasn't necessary to take an identical one, y'know?)

Description

Here’s some more information about these lenses!

Name: Glamour Brown
Brand: Neo Vision
Origin: South Korea
Water content: 45%
Diameter: 14.2mm
Base curve: 8.6
Life: 1 year (I do not recommended using any lenses for 3+ months)

Colours available (8): hazel, brown, honey, gray, green, blue, aqua, violet

Price: Currently $29.60 [here]

Design

The design is super pretty, as all Neo Glamours are. They're 3 toned, so the colours blend nicely together and give a natural, pretty look.

This lens does have a pretty unique, interesting design. Instead of having a solid limbal ring like most circle lenses, they have jagged edges! These lines do look a lot more natural than a normal, solid limbal ring would.

These lenses start (outside to in) by a thin, black limbal ring and changes to a warm brown colour, finishing off with a orangey yellow.

Pictures

The picture below shows me wearing the lenses in different lightings; the first is in flash, then window light, and the last one indoor.

I thought I'd have pictures here comparing the Glamour browns to the Glamour hazels. Before I had either lens, I was debating on getting either the Brown or the Hazel. On the site pictures, it was difficult to tell the difference between the two.

NOTE: I haven't posted the review for the Hazels just yet - it'll be posted next.
Eyeballs, yay! (Left-brown, Right-hazel)

My thoughts

I do really, really like this colour - the Glamour browns are pretty. I do think they're a bit too reddish for me. The hazels were super, vampy red; but the browns also have a tinge of red as well. However, I do like these better than the hazels (because they're more natural compared to them).

These lenses have a brown colour up close - but from further away, it really does have a hint of red that you can't miss. As pretty as it is, it's not natural enough for me to wear comfortably in public. Please take a look at the pictures on the bottom to see what I mean. (Again, I think I look like a vampire.)

I'll happily wear these for a specific FOTD or for a post, though! The colour shows up very clearly, which I like! But for real-life wear? Hmm... maybe not.

Also... the comfort level on this particular lens seems to be different from my other Glamours. I have no idea why, but these aren't as comfy as my other ones. I can get maybe 3-4 hours in, before my eyes start feeling really dry. Sadly, this lens doesn't pass the comfort test! T___T

As always, these lenses really aren't meant for enlargement. They offer very little (if any) - so if you're specifically looking for a "big eyed" effect, these won't be a good choice!

= I like the lenses, but they're not as natural or comfortable as I'd like them to be. Sorry, Glamour Browns... but I probably won't be repurchasing you. T__T

So that's it for today!

What about you?
Do you like the colour of these? Do you like the "vampire" eye colour?

Question: My Korean cosmetic reviews seem to be much popular than my circle lens reviews (though quite a few people still read/comment on lens reviews as well).

But I was just curious - do you guys want me to continue reviewing lenses? Or should I completely stop lens reviews and focus on cosmetics?

(If its decided not to post more lens reviews, I'll just post the remaining lens reviews I have and stop receiving new lenses for review).

[Review] Missha M SUPER BLACK Brush Pen Liner

If you're reading this right now, I'm guessing you've tried (or heard of) the Dollywink liquid liners.

Today's review will be on a similar product! It's Missha's "M SUPER BLACK brush penliner". Have you ever used a pen liner like this?

Description

Pictures taken from Missha.ca

Packaging - The product comes in beautiful, classy packaging. It's royal blue with gold letters and accents on it, really pretty! Other than the name of the product, the actual pen doesn't offer any information (expiration date, etc) - you'll have to get that from the box itself. The cap is surprising secure and tight, and opens and shuts with a spring to it.

Brush - As for the brush itself - it's quite thick (thicker than Dollywink's), but the fine tip at the end allows you to create a super thin liner look, if desired. It's flexible, but still offers ease when applying. I personally find regular liquid liners (not in pen/brush) super hard to apply because of the flimsy brush.

Colour - The colour itself is a dark, intense black.

*Important note - This product does not claim to be waterproof.

Size
The liner has 0.6g of product. The pen is similar to Dollywink's size (12.8cm).

Price
This product currently sells for $15.99 on Missha.ca

Swatches

Thick and thin lines

Rub test!

I tried rubbing the top half of the liner off - but it barely moved. The skin around my hands got quite red after (thats how much force I used)! It's safe to say that this liner is solid, strong and won't rub off. Bravo!

Waterproof?

*Important - This product never claims to be waterproof. It instead claims that the "super black polymer provides long lasting benefits against water, sweat and sebum - unless rubbing it."

This is a product that contains "mild pigments for delicate eye area", and thus the eyeliner is easily removed by steeping and rubbing with water.

When I had running water over the swatch, it didn't move at all. It does live up to the claim that it's waterproof (unless rubbed). The times I wore it, it never rubbed off on me as well, and I have oily eyelids.

This is what happens when I swiped my wet hand (not too forcefully) 3-4 times. It's very easy to remove. It's safe to say that if you use a cotton pad or Q-tip to remove your liner, all the pigment will be easily removed.

My experience

I really believe that everyone should have at least 2 types of favourite liners - waterproof and non-waterproof. It's nice to have both for different days. You may need a solid, iron-like, waterproof liner for those days you know you'll get teary.

But for those days when you want to take off your makeup easily, with a wipe or some water; you'll need that other one.

However, I never really had a "HG" non-waterproof eyeliner before. This is because all the ones I tried were so... shoddy. Even if it wasn't waterproof, they'd completely fail the rub test.

SO YES. I have found my other HG liner! I'll wear this liner mostly in the fall/winter time, because I get insane allergies (hello, teary red eyes) in the spring/summer.

I really, really LOVE that this liner is so strong and stays on for the entire day with no flaking, etc. And at the end of the day, when I stumble home from a nightmare a late night lecture, I want my makeup off ASAP. No fiddling with oil-based removers, no extra nonsense like that. I want water + cotton pad = GONE. This liner offers me exactly that, and I love it dearly.

This is truly one of my favourite products from Missha! (And one of my most highly rated!)

Recommend?

Yes, I would absolutely recommend this product - but this is for people who are looking for a non-waterproof, liquid eyeliner. I'd recommend anyone to have a non-waterproof, easily removable liner! The quality for price (for this product) is excellent; this is a quality liner. I paid a lot more for my past liners, so the $16 doesn't bother me much. Even dollywink eyeliners are more expensive than $16.
I'd strongly recommend this for anyone to try! Give it a try, and tell me how it goes! *u*

But if you're looking for a waterproof one; you're in the wrong place!

If you live in Toronto - an official "Missha" store just recently opened. They're currently still having promotions and lots of sales (I saw so many red tags when I went), so if I were you, drop on by! C:

If you live in elsewhere, Missha does have stores around the world - as well as online stores!

What about you?
Do you strictly use waterproof liners, or do you like "easily removable" ones?

[Review] Tonymoly Appletox Honey Cream

Tonymoly always has super cute packaging. Amiright?

I've always wanted to try their Appletox line. The green apple (peeling cream) and the red apple (honey cream) looks absolutely adorable! Today, half of that dream has come true, heheh. I was able to try out the Tonymoly Appletox Honey Cream, thanks to Jolse! They're currently having a "discount event" right now, so I'd highly recommend you to check it out. (If you follow me on Twitter, that's the cause of my mini "cosmetics-induced panic attack", lol.)

Manufactured date
This product has been on my eye since forever. The first time I saw it on eBay, I went slackjawed and said "I need this", only for the packaging itself! Because really - who can resist The Apple of Cute?
I think the stem is the cutest part. It's just so.... 3D. (Okay, I'm so weird.)

[Haul] Korean cosmetics haul + Back to School! [Tonymoly, Etude House, Skinfood, Holika Holika, etc.]

Heyo!

It's been some time since my last Korean cosmetics haul (it has, right? uhh) and I'm back with another! I stocked up on products (and clothes) before the upcoming school year. I don't start classes until the 9th, see. I'm too busy to (frequently) shop during the school year, so hopefully these will last me until the Winter break!

The majority of these products were purchased by myself at Pacific mall (a huge asian mall), eBay and Eaton Centre (a mall in Toronto). Only the Etude tint, colorpop and Laneige pack were sponsored - thanks, ibuybeauti!

The picture below are taken all at Pacific mall: Holika Holika, Missha and Tonymoly. All of the stores had "Back to School" (B2S) sales, and there were lots of products marked down! I personally don't think it was marked down enough for me to go insane, but meh - better than original retail price, still more expensive than eBay.

On the picture above, do you see the red dot on the upper left hand corner? That was a product from Holika Holika - the packaging was absolutely gorgeous and elegant! It looked so expensive, so I was curious and asked the SA how much it cost.

It was $200+. *o*
 Whhhhaaatt...

Anyways - to the haul! I'll start off by showing my Korean (and a bit of Japanese) cosmetics, and then finish off with my "Back to School" clothing haul.

List of items in this haul

1. Tonymoly sheet masks (10 green tea, 2 aloe)
2. Tonymoly lip scrub

3. The Face Shop sheet masks (3 green tea)
4. The Face Shop eyelash curler
5. The Face Shop acne solution foam cleansing
6. The Face Shop pure water facial mist
7. The Face Shop jelly jello lip tint (02 enamel red)

8. Etude House CC cream - silky
10. Etude House Fresh Cherry tints (PK001 and RD301)
11. Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm (02 natural beige)
12. Etude House gradation nail sets (#2, #9)

13. Missha Perfect M BB cream (#23)
14. Skinfood sheet masks ("Time Magazine" food mask set)
15. Shiseido "pureness" deep cleansing foam
16. eBay false eyelashes (3 packs)

17. Mizon honey black sugar scrub
18. Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel
19. Kiss me Heroine make "long and curl" mascara
21. Dermal sheet masks (4 "red ginseng")
22. Bioderma micellar water

Masks

Somebody save me - I have a true addiction to sheet masks. I kid you not. This stack was supposed to be bigger, but somehow I managed to summon all the willpower I had to not buy an extra 20. These face masks are from a variety of stores: C+F, Dermal, Tonymoly, The Face Shop, Skinfood.

To be honest, I'm not a really big fan of Tonymoly masks. I find them just "average", and nothing that really benefits my skin. It's just nice to use every once in a while, that's all (+my addiction).

The C+F and Dermal masks are my HG. I absolutely love them - and they're often much cheaper than Tonymoly, The Face Shop, Etude House, etc.!

Lip products

I bought the The Face Shop "jelly jello" lip tint and the Tonymoly lip scrub at Pacific mall. The jelly jello (love that name) tint was only $4 or something! TFS was having a "Back to School" sale, and I was able to grab this for 40% off the original price.

The Tonymoly lip scrub was pretty expensive, though - no sales on that particular product. I think I paid $13 (with tax)? It's pretty pricey for such a tiny little thing.

Face products (cleansers, skincare)

Okay, I admit - I probably bought way too much. I haven't even used most of these yet. The Sieseido cleanser is a repurchase for me. I used to use it back in 6th-9th grade, before I switched over to Laneige. I just thought I'd buy it again to relive my love for it! (It's so pricey though aurgh my wallet)

I know Bioderma isn't Korean or Japanese, but while I was buying the Shiseido, I decided to pick this up as well. It was on sale! How could I resist?!

I probably have way too many mists now (I rarely use any), but I also picked up that The Face Shop pure water facial mist. Why, I do not know.

Can't wait to try this stuff! What do you want to see reviews on first? :)

Face products (makeup)

So many people were crazy about my last Etude House CC cream giveaway, and really showed interest in it. I hadn't used a CC cream before then, so I was curious about all the hype. My cousin went to Korea and while she was there, I asked her to pick this up for me! This is the silky version.

The Missha BB cream is another repurchase for me. It doesn't match me currently (thanks, summer sun) , but I do find that it's alright in the wintertime. I just bought it... really, really early.

The Etude House Balm (the circle thing) is a random purchase for me. I do not know why I bought it. I didn't even check the colour before buying it (I bought "02 natural beige"). I'm scared. .-.

Eye products

The Face Shop eyelash curler was a measly $2.75. I used it before, and it was decent. It's a pretty good deal, and there's nothing to complain about, yay!

The eBay eyelashes were a first time buy for me - they were approximately $1 per box. PER BOX. You really can't go wrong with $1, can you?!
And also - they sell these exact lashes at Pacific mall, but charge $10+. Do not buy them, and just buy them on ebay. (They buy it there themselves, it's the exact same thing)

The Kiss Me mascara is also a repurchase, my HG mascara! It was $20, but I think it's pretty worth it. I haven't had good experiences with drugstore mascara here (Maybelline, etc), so meh.

Nail products

These Etude House gradation sets (09 and 02) aren't bad! They're pretty amazing, and I really, really like them! I have several other sets, so I'm not that new to these. I've never tried these particular colours though, so I'm excited!

Okay, so that finishes up my Korean (and Japanese and "Western") cosmetics haul! I think I went a little overboard, but... YAY OVERBOARD.

Onto the clothes that I bought!
I didn't take detailed pictures, it's just basically a sneak peek. I'll most likely start having OOTDs on my blog soon, and these will be in them!

These clothes were purchased by myself at Eaton Centre. It's a bunch of stuff from Club Monaco, F21, Roots and Abercrombie and Fitch (they have pretty stuff sometimes, I cannot resist).

Club Monaco

They had a freak sale a few days ago, and I went freaky. 50% off already marked down items? Count me innnnnnn. Some of the clothes I bought weren't 50% off though, sobsob. T__T They were just too pretty to wait until a sale came around.

The scarf is SO soft, it's like... so soft I can't even. And it's so full as well, so poofy but thin! Y'know what I'm talking about, right?
And it was $10. Original price: $80 or something (can't remember).

Abercrombie and Fitch

I bought 2 shirts, and a couple of jeans (not all of the jeans were pictured... because... why?). The sparkles and stuff on the blue shirt was just omg. I cannot get away from the sparkle.

True, they're very shoddily sewn onto the shirt - but... sparkles! Me likes The Shiney!

And I bought more skinny jeans. It's for the upcoming autumn/winter season, when I wear my children my lovely, lovely boots and tuck them in. I love boots so much, I can't even explain. *u*

Roots and Forever21

The green shirt picture came out a bit weird, but... hm!

I'm not sure why the pictures of my green F21 shirt came out so... "sketchy". No idea, but in real life it doesn't look like that! I love it, it's one of my current favourite shirts (wearing it right now hehehe).

The Roots sweatpants... these are my first pair. Everyone raved about them, but I never really "got" the craze until now. Why are they so comfy?! These are for my hobo days, and those "its too cold to go out to school but I need to in order to get an education but argh why" days.

Those Forever21 socks! How can I say no?! (I can't seem to say "no" to a lot of stuff, hnng). They're adorable! A piggy! A kitty! Made in Korea! Me likey.
They were $1.50, too. *u* Hohohh I'm gonna go buy more soon.

Well, that's it for my Korean cosmetics and Back-2-School haul!

What about you?
What'd you buy in your last haul? What'd you get for B2S? What do you want me to write a review on? Am I asking too many questions?
